Message from the Principals:
Welcome to the June edition of Optima Daily. As summer begins, longer days bring more opportunities to connect, enjoy one another’s company, and make the most of time together across our communities. Throughout the month, we recognize Pride, a time to celebrate diversity, inclusion, and welcoming spaces for all.We will also observe Seniors Week and Father’s Day, each offering a chance to honour the people and relationships that make our communities so special.
This month also brings our Annual Food Bank Drive, running from June 1 to July 19. It’s an opportunity to come together in support of those in need and give back in a meaningful way. More details will be shared soon. Finally, many of our communities will be joining in the World Cup spirit cheering for teams in the FIFA World Cup. We hope you enjoy the sunshine and time spent in good company throughout the month ahead.
Note from the General Manager: Nizia Rahman
I am a Registered Nurse with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Calgary and six years of experience as a Director of Care in supportive living and long-term care settings, with additional clinical experience in acute care, pediatrics, neonatal care, and geriatric health. I will be serving as the General Manager here at Silverleaf Optima, where I support daily
operations and warmly welcome Estate residents to Optima, ensuring a smooth transition and a positive experience for residents, families, and employees. Outside of work, I enjoy hot yoga, swimming, hiking, travelling, reading, and spending time outdoors in Calgary. I also enjoy Japanese cuisine, especially sushi, and lighthearted films such as Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.

Father’s Day Dining Announcement
To celebrate Father’s Day, a special Men’s Lunch will be hosted on June 19th. In addition, a featured meal will be offered on Father’s Day.
This provides a wonderful opportunity for residents to invite family members or friends to join them for a meaningful and enjoyable dining experience.
Tickets will be available beginning June 1st at reception.
